A few weeks ago we made a pledge that ModusBPCM would listen, learn and educate ourselves on how we have participated in systemic racism. In examining ourselves, our hiring practices and the industries we serve, it is clear that for change to be real and lasting we must address and reassess all of our internal practices, including how we present online. We are earnest and very aware that we may get it wrong at times but we are committed to showing up diligently for Black and BIPOC communities. We vow to sustain our efforts past the current news cycle and will remain consistent, transparent and accountable as we move forward and begin doing the work.
We are actively creating an ongoing intern grant program that will be introduced in Fall 2020.
Outside coaching and programming on Diversity and Inclusion for all team members with specialised training for our Leadership Team on how to practise positive allyship, support and celebrate Black creative communities.
Working with a diversity consultant to implement new recruiting protocols to increase diversity within our agency at every level.
We will highlight and uplift Black voices using all of our platforms at ModusBPCM, BPCM and ThisisNowLive.
We have made donations to Black Girls Ventures, Equal Justice Initiative, The Conscious Kid and Safe House, and plan to celebrate their important work and ongoing initiatives.
We have create a new Action Committee made up of team members and leadership to ensure that these intentions are put into tangible action.
